I have been lucky enough to call the Panhandle my home away from home for the past 45 years of my life. As I was an Army Brat and then Air Force wife, the Destin beaches were the anchor in my worldwide travels, the tether that created a thread of continuity within my family as we grew in number over the years. Now that my husband has retired from Active Duty in the Air Force, I am beyond blessed to call The Emerald Coast my permanent home. As I have been an eye witness to the birth and growth of the neighborhoods and resorts along Destin and 30A, it has been a joy to see my favorite place flourish.
